A Full-Scale Data Platform Built for Performance & Legacy
KHSBB was built as more than just a website—it’s a living archive designed to preserve and showcase the full history of Kentucky high school basketball. With decades of data spanning teams, players, coaches, records, and awards, the challenge was creating a platform that could organize and present a massive amount of information in a way that feels fast, clean, and easy to explore. I designed and developed the entire system using Next.js, focusing on performance, scalability, and long-term growth.
Every part of the project—from the branding and UI/UX design to the data structure and content strategy—was built from the ground up. The goal was to make it simple for users to search, browse, and discover historical data without feeling overwhelmed. Clean layouts, structured navigation, and optimized data rendering ensure the platform remains fast even as the dataset continues to grow.
This project is also a personal passion, which allowed for a deeper level of detail and care across every element. From writing and content creation to logo design and visual identity, every piece was crafted to create a platform that not only stores history, but makes it engaging and accessible for fans, researchers, and the Kentucky basketball community.
